2022.01.18 16:58 HuusSaOrh I made an empire based on the Kemalist Turks. I based their bio as a civil war between "spiritualists" and seculars and when i started the game the first event i got was the fist of god... Oddly realistic coincidence...

2022.01.18 16:58 Dry_Bandit [WTS] [US-TX][H] Blon B20 w/ 3 cables and pelican case [W] $300, PayPal
| Selling my Blon B20s w/ 3 cables plus a free pelican case for 300 shipped. I got these last year but just don't use them enough to keep them anymore. The 3.5mm input is a bit finnicky if the cord is bent at certain angles I've found (could probably use a cleaning) but otherwise the sound is perfect and the unit is in pristine condition. Continental US only. |

2022.01.18 16:58 DJMikaMikes The "new" attrition game mode is just a moderately less creative breakout from H5.
I'm a huge Halo fan that's been in the series since about H2, but didn't really get into it until H3; I was just a little young for CE. Basically, I've been with the games through it all, always able to take the good with the bad (once 343 took over - or maybe the kinda overtuned Reach abilities).
All that to say, I actually enjoyed the H4 multiplayer since it was kinda just Halo going fuck it how about MW2 meets Halo; it was very different at least. H5's campaign was dogass, but the multiplayer had some decent highlights, most interestingly a game mode called "breakout."
Breakout and Brief Discussion
For those that never played it, while it was really fun, it just never quite caught on, and it difficult to say exactly why. In this mode, you entered some cool sci-fi virtual world and got launched into the digital looking map on a man cannon with no shields and just a basic smg loadout. Here's a random YouTube vid that discusses it... https://youtu.be/w6A8EAwhclI
While there were no respawns at all and a lot more rounds, it shares a lot in common with the new attrition mode; however, it was much closer to a CoD snd game mode or a Counterstrike match than attrition, which seems to be closer to a battle royale with the weird shrinking circle and clunky awful revives
I don't know exact where I'm going with this -- but the "new" game mode is just awkward, and it doesn't have that cool creative spark that made breakout standout.
Maybe it was just marketing that made breakout fail -- I have this weird feeling that if it was just in Infinite, it'd be a huge success, especially with the 3rd person launch into maps, showing off your "custom" Spartan.

2022.01.18 16:58 yellowbthrowa Felt my lungs are going to stop.
I woke up this morning, went to the bathroom and then went back to the bed. Then I felt that I couldn’t breath well, my breath was really heavy and that a feeling that my lungs are not having oxygen.
I put my oximeter (it was near my drawer bed) and my spo2 level were 98-99% but my heart reached 140bpm for 1 minutes and then it started to slow down and the feeling of suffocating went away.
It’s like I was in a race. I had this before. I went to the cardiology hospital 3 weeks ago for fast heart rate and they did every test and nothing was wrong. I already did a stress test back in March too.
The feeling is scary because I’m like in bed and feel my lungs are gonna stop. I also had Omicron in late december but I don’t have it since like 2 week and I didn’t really have bad symptoms, it was like an allergy to me.

2022.01.18 16:58 h4ud8yriewdsiu4 I'm overthinking math curriculum for gifted kid
I have a mathematically gifted 1st grader working at about a 3rd grade level. We currently use Singapore Dimensions for foundations and a hodge-podge of resources from other publishers to provide enrichment in creative problem solving. I'd like to continue with Singapore for foundations, but replace our hodge-lodge enrichment with something more structured like Beast Academy, but the two series are sequenced very differently. I've given her several BA placement tests and it's not clear which level she should be in -- half the questions are trivial for her while the others are hard. Books aren't cheap so I don't want to buy several with a lot of overlapping content and only use half of each.
I guess my question is, has anyone here found a good rhythm for using Singapore and BA together, or have those who tried found it was better to just use BA for both foundations and enrichment? Would using just the BA puzzle books complement Singapore better than using the full BA curriculum? I know I'm really overthinking this.
